Alice Toguchi-Matsuo, MPH, RDN, CDCES 

Registered Dietitian

Director of Sweet Success Hawaii (FDIP)

Alice Toguchi-Matsuo is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES).  She was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Alice received her bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition, and Master’s degree in Public Health Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  

 

Self-management and education for disease management is at the heart of what she does.  During her career, she has enjoyed providing Medical Nutrition Therapy for high risk, pregnant women as well as people of all ages.  As a CDE, she has had the honor of helping patients with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes mellitus meet their goals.  Her expertise is in translating science into answers to the question:  "What can I eat/do to manage diabetes and other chronic conditions?".  

 

Her treasures are her 3 children and border collie.

Kathy Price, RDN, CDCES

Registered Dietitian 

Kathy is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).  She received a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  She has been with the Fetal Diagnostic Institute of the Pacific since 2010.

 

Kathy grew up on Molokai and visits family there as often as she can. In her free time, she enjoys running and spending time with her two daughters.

Lisa Tam, BS

Administrative & Certified Diabetes Educator Assistant

Lisa spent most of her childhood in Texas and Florida and enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life. Oahu ultimately became “home” where she spent her high school years playing sports and making lifetime friends in beautiful Manoa. She attended Colorado State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in the department of Applied Human Sciences.

Lisa joined the Diabetes in Pregnancy Program at Fetal Diagnostic Institute of the Pacific in 2011 and has enjoyed working there ever since. Working closely with patients and seeing them become empowered in their self-management and having healthy delivery outcomes are just a few of the many intrinsic rewards of her position. 

She is married with four children, a son-in-law, identical twin grandsons, a PomChi and Gerberian Shepsky.  She credits the support and services of Dr. Hirata and staff for ensuring her daughter’s healthy pregnancy and optimal outcomes.

Kelsy Satuwatari, BS

Diabetes Educator Assistant

Kelsy is a Diabetes Educator Assistant.  She received her BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition and has completed her dietetic internship through the individualized Supervised Practice Pathway at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Kelsy joined the Fetal Diagnostic Institute of the Pacific in 2015.
